Collection: Helmets: Specifications are Important
You will need a helmet designed to provide protection against falling debris and other potential hazards. Make sure your helmet is rated correctly for the sport of canyoning. Most canyoners use helmets certified for climbing. We recommend the Petzl Borea style helmet for women as it has a space for your ponytail.
Helmets need to be rated.Certifications: CE EN 12492, UKCA, UIAA
CE, EN,UKCA, and UIAA Numbers Simplified
The EN numbers are the European Norm standard that a product has to meet for a particular job.
UIAA markings mean that an item has also been approved for use in mountaineering by the International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation UIAA. For information on the UIAA standards and the testing methods, please visit the UIAA web site.
UK Conformity Assessed. UKCA, United Kingdom Conformity Assessed
CE numbers only mean that an item has met the requirements the manufacturer has set for the product through the European Committee for Standardization. Therefore products with this mark have not necessarily been assessed to the same standards as those with EN and UIAA numbers. Items with only CE numbers are not to be used for Personal protective equipment. Technicaloutdoorsolutions
